The length of the lockdown was a good excuse for me to paint.
Faced with the Covid-19 pandemic, and the dramatic news amplified by the media, I needed to escape and connect with myself.
Daily, I took selfies with my smartphone, and then represented myself freely on paper. This introspection allowed me to discover myself, and to give a meaning to my overturned daily life.

Like a diary, each self-portrait carries a date. I painted with acrylic, ink, and sometimes made simple cut-outs. My face sometimes disappeared to reveal a mask, which became an African mask. In all, I made 59 paintings on paper.
