The angst and revile I’ve felt over the last four years of Trump has significantly intensified with COVID-19, and his politically motivated response, which resulted in the needless deaths of thousands of people. From his family separation policies to his overt attacks on our democracy, as well as the epidemic of violent racism he has egged on, and that has been perpetrated by some in our police force and beyond, have inevitably, and subconsciously, informed my work.

So, while my art doesn’t overtly refer to these issues, it does, I believe, in its layers, surfaces, and use of color, reflect the extent in which these issues permeate my studio.
